Hi All,

Just wondering what max. tyre size I can get in under standard wheel arches.

Currently on standard springs but will be going for 2" parabolix a little later...

Thanks

MX

dont know but when I put 235 85's on offset rims on my swb the lugs just clipped the arches with a load up over bumps but hasn't since fitting paras. You could probably fit wider with standard rims but then you lose some of your not overly impressive steering lock.

Depends on the rim width. For 5" swb rims, 650x16 is the max. The slightly wider lwb rims will do 750x16 or metric equivalent, 1 ton rims are upto 6.5" wide and will go up to 900x16 (with suspension mods) but good luck finding any of those...

I have sold a few tyres on T'bay There is a guy I know near where I work he has a stash of 900's and I can get some every now and then Also Vass had some but I think they are all out of good ones

Ok, just asking as its a common question on the 900 club as you may imagine.

I went with 265/75 R16 in the end.....

....Ohhhh its tight, but just about fits in.

I've keep orginal rims with avon's on for originalitys sake though.

Mind you new wheels and tyres (7" wheels) look fantastic, actually turn as opposed to fold!!!!!!! And are great in snow!

Amazing how much ride quality improved.... now only loose fillings as opposed to crowns...

Totec Tyres have them in bar grip: 9.00 X 16 Military NDMS Bar grip tyres 8 ply £145 each

I have some on my ex mil 109 and they really seem to suit it (have a look at my pics) .....no probs with grip on the road, but I don't go silly round corners.
