In my recently aquired P38 diesel 2000MY the maxi fuse # 2 (50 amps) is not there. Full service history directs me to the LR garage where the remember the vehicle but nobody knows about the fuse. The first owner is a-tech and has no knowledge of fuses at all.
Everything seems to function normally. I wonder why the fuse is gone, and what would happen if I stick one in...
Can You think of a reason?

I think that is a spare circuit. If no faults or messages are showing up and the car runs then leave well alone. You don't want to upset these car's electrics. Maxi 3 is the ABS pump. Are any of the other maxi fuses missing?

I shall leave it alone, as everything seems to function and no fault messages show.
On the lid of the fuse-box, an engine-block with the electrics warning flash through it is shown for this fuse.

engine seems to run fine without the fuse...
why would anyone remove it if it's for the EMS?

Maybe it's for the EMS on the petrol engines as yours is a diesel it may not need it. Maxi fuse 2 runs relay 21 according to Rave.

Has someone replaced a Diesel fusebox with a petrol one here, perhaps? And fiddled things around to make it work?

SAI was V8 only surely....

Didn't look to see what fuel type his was tbh...!!

Yes SAI V8 only. Can't find a relay 21. But as i say not look too deep. If you look in power distribution it is shown there supplying relay 21. My diesel has one, must take it out someday and see if anything stops working. :D:D
