Keep it coming !
:)
How cum you got someone else to weld it? Surly that was more expensive than actually buying a welder amd learning and doing it yourself?

A mate did it at an incredible price.
I also wouldn't of had the time needed to do it due to work etc, as it already took me 8 months to get it on the road at the time.

The ones on it up to the point in this thread are 235/85/16 on 7J rims with zero offset.

Do they rub on the radius arms? Need to get a set of wheels for mine and am running the same size special tracks as your self.
Ideally I would like to run a wider wheel with deeper offset but don't know if that's possible with a 235 wide tyre.

They did initially on full lock but a quick adjustment of the lock stops soon sorted that.

You'll need a 265 width tyre minimum if you up to 8" wide rims.

The ones on mine now are 265/75/16 on 8J rims with -35mm offset.
MUCH better.

Hahaha your dog has me in stitches!!! Looks like his wearing a wig!! Lol does he come along off roading? My mutt loves it, this is my buddy bruno...

keep up the exellent work... all best...c

Not wanting to hijack, but here is mine after fitting -35 offset 8 inch modulars with 265 A/T tyres fitted...

normal_side.jpg

Here you can see when I just had them fitted, and still needed to fit the rear flexi arch (2 inch arches)...

Compared to the standard alloys with the flexi arch fitted..

hope that helps ;)

Ah, yes.
Sorry, very busy with work and general life stuff of late.
Will have a session the weekend. :)

Right, I'm doing precisely jack sh*t today, so time to crack on with the progress of this thread. :D

Various bits were refurbished during the suspension lift.

Some heavy duty steering bars & adjustable panhard rod got caught up in the painting frenzy too. :)

We'll come back to the short lived presence of those wheels in a bit...

Dear Gwyn Lewis.
Please could you send me some nice shiny bits please.
Regards

Relocated steering damper kit & heavy duty steering damper:

A couple of Bailey Morris, Gwyn Lewis spec wide angled props.

One of which will replace the troublesome 300tdi rear prop donut:

Bargain show price winch from the 2012 Stafford in door 4x4 show.

Purchased on the same day I met fellow LZ member Mr. Noisy.
Little did we know at this point how involved he'd become in my D1 build.
We'll come back to the legend himself later. :tea:

With absolutely no idea how old the battery was, it was now getting to the point where it was struggling to start on the cold mornings, so a new one to accompany the winch was in order.

Literally the biggest battery you can get in the standard space without modification:

A second battery and alternator set up follows later...

Another eBay bargain with a good percentage of the purchase price going to the Help for Heroes charity. Double win.

And that spare wheel is a bit snug, isn't it...?!

However, my obsession with fresh paint meant this simply wouldn't do:

One full strip and refurb later. :brushteeth:
