I kinda know what you mean it’s the red tone. I prefer traditional colours. My second landy was marine blue and it was an S3. In fact underneath the Masai red is MB!

Masai red is one of the traditional colours. Land Rover only had half a dozen colours for series vehicle as standard one of which was Masai red. I only like it because it is the colour mine Are And mine are the best Land Rovers! Neither of mine were chosen on colour, They both happen to be red and when I repainted them I didn’t want to have to buy two differant reds. The series was Masai from the factory and the 110 had been resprayed badly So I do not know What I was originally, so Masai won out.
It looks good when the paint is new!

I have changed my phone recently but I’ve lost my photos of my S3 in the heatwave of 2017 with its canvas tilt which looks same as your photo! I’ll see if I can get it.

What a b’stard of a job getting the hardtop off. Hadn’t been off since 1983. I got the tilt in 2007 when I bought a donor S3 petrol SWB. Got it for nothing.
With loads of time just now I’m going to put the tilt on this spring. Should be quicker this time as no siezed bolts etc.

I think the old series with faded out masai red are the best looking ones ever made.......just my opinion of course:)

There is a limit to how faded look good though! Mine was a little too far gone when I first got it and someone had badly filled dents and then left the filler to flake off rather than sand smooth and paint! But it was the perfect example of buying on mechanicals rather than body work, Underneath the grim exterior was a galv chassis and a recently rebuilt engine!

Lol yes you'd have had a job colour matching that!

That looks very nice as it is! I would leave it alone personally. I only repainted mine because it was so rough to start with. If I could have got away without I would have done.

Took half a day to change to canvas. Still glorious weather so far. It was easier because the hardtop fixings are new.
