hiya guys
please can anyone tell me what the MAP sensor is for and how it works as i have been told it controls the turbo boost any info i would be greatfull

The MAP sensor or "Manifold Absolute Pressure" sensor measures the absolute pressure in the inlet manifold ..... to state the obvious. It converts an absolute pressure reading into a voltage signal which the engine ECU uses.

Not sure which car you are talking about but the turbo boost control on the p38 DSE is a stand alone mechanical system. There is no boost controller in the ECU fuel map chip. Other than an over boost limit setting.
