Hi all,

I've got nothing to make the comparison with but a friend of mine thinks that my RR 2.5 DSE auto gearbox has more slippage while pulling away than it should have.

I hadn't noticed because I've not had one before and the lovely 2.5 is a bit slow.

Usually, advice would be to check/replace the bands in the auto-box but could it be something to do with the computer? Either the ECU or the brain under the front seat?

Maybe even something else as the vehicle has only just 90k on the clock, I would have thought the bands were still okay.

Any thoughts anyone?

Lots of torque converter slip on pull away, it masks the fact that the engine has bugger all power below 2500rpm. Not good with the manual gearbox.

So it's a design feature then..?
I shall worry about it no longer and go ahead with the new ECU chip then.

Thanks chaps,

Which will, in due course bugger your gearbox. I sugest you do a gearbox oil and filter change before upping the torque because the box is near it's limit as standard:eek:
