right then. i've got a bit of a problem with my 90.

bought it as a 2.5turbo and put a 300tdi in it not long after i got it. still running the lt77 box.

the original transferbox was shot to hell so fitted a new one out of a disco.

all was fine till this weird major vibration started. really does feel like its going to shake itself to bits. checked all round the engine/box and nothing is touching the body/chassis.

so i changed the engine mounts, this made it worse. then a few mechanic friends thought it might be fueling. so i fitted a new lift pump, then a brand new fuel pump (on loan) this all made no differance.

then i changed the injectors. this made it a million times worse; blue/black smoke from the exhaust and only ran on three cyliners. put the old injectors back in. now runs fine just stuck with this vibration.

its worst at idle and doesn't really change when driving under load or engine brakeing. so this made me think that it can't be anything else apart from fueling/engine problem

any ideas would be massivly appreciated as i have exhausted all other avenues of help i can get.

Check the tappets (valve clearances)

did u see / hear the 300 tdi running before you put it in?

timing belt jumped some teeth?

if changing the injectors changed things... the new set might have been faulty?...might be worth trying another set... perhaps a used set out of a scrapyard. im sure ive read somewhere recently that theres been a problem with new injectors using bits made in a chinese backstreet sweatshop being faulty out the boxes.
