last weekend I was repairing a split in my chassis behind the front bump stop. Welding upside down laying on the floor I had a bit of weld go in my ear. Good job I was sweating a bit, I heard it sizzle near my ear drum for a second or two before I managed to let it run out. I wear ear plugs when I'm welding now. I think that could be a nasty injury.

Been close to that a lot of times.I've got hairy ears (no rude remarks please) & i hear the hair crackling in there sometimes. One of the blokes at work was cutting overhead (oxy)& a large blob of molten metal went down his neck. He leaned forward to try to minimise burns & it ran down into his trousers & lodged in his underpants causing a very nasty burn on his scrotem.(he did a very amusing dance) The most embarasing bit was getting it bandaged in the medical by the nurse.

the ideal work yes but its a museum piece so costs have to be down and the chassis has had quite a few mods for the recce gun mounts and extra fuel tank outriggers etc etc
