Hi guys.

Saturday I went on a little outing in my defender 300tdi 1990's. Went through some deep water then about 50 yards down the lane I went over a couple of big bumps. As I went over the biggest bump in the road we took off a bit. When I hit back down the headlights went off. Main beam worked for about 10 seconds then they went off. I jumped out and checked the bulbs and they had both exploded! Just shattered glass in my lenses... I got back home with side lights and in the morning I noticed the fuse for the heater fan had melted and so had the fuse for the left head light. I changed these out and replaced both bulbs in the head lights. Now only main beam works. No dipped head light. Checked fuses and yellow relay near gear stick. Swapped it with starter relay just in case and still nothing. Someone said on another forum there is a pink relay behind the clocks but I took my dash out and all I had was wires... Any help would be champion. Cheers in advance guys

ok guys i've checked all fuses etc and the dim dip relay behind the dash has already been taken out. so im at a loss of where the problem is. any more ideas?

Ok guys need some more help on this. Been out this weekend and checked all the fuses connectors and even had the steering column off to check the wiring all looks good. But still don't have head lights. Interestingly when I pull the stalk back for main beam. Both filaments in the bulb light up. So I'm struggling. Any help please

Sorted it. Was a dodgy relay. And I replaced it with a wrong one when self diagnosing it a few weeks ago. For there in the end ha! Cheers for input
