Hiya Peeps!

Back on again!
I want to remove, clean or replace my Vanos solenoids. Question is, where do I get the deep reach 32mm socket from, BMW dealers etc.. or modify a deep reach off evilbay? Any help would be great.

I had to ream the vanos removal socket out a tad that came with the timing kit I bought off the bay so be warned.

Don't suppose you still have that socket?

Afraid not but if your carefull a pair of pump pliers should wind them out and none of the ebay or amazon vanos valves actually fit been there done it. So a clean is all you should do

What are pump pliers? Chap on full fat suggests a 32mm plumbers box spanner? The Evilbay prices for solenoids do seem very cheap compared to thems from stealers/specialists? Will test the solenoids ohms and hopefully get away with a good clean?

32mm plumbers box spanner will do it or pump pliers

Can't remember if my timing kit came with the socket - been ages since I looked at it.
