Well after getting the idea of the V8 out ma head and releasing it was a turd dressed up i,ve went a bought this wee 90 300TDI for a fairly reasonable sum,

The engine and drive train are sound , does need some new bushes here and there, all easy jobs. Battery tray is the only welding /changing required. My main question on here is the back door! No internal photos , but trust me its shot!

Having looked at all options i,m thinking a new OE door is the best approach. So has anyone on here tried using these doors?*NEW* OE SPEC DEFENDER 90 110 HEATED GLAZED REAR BACK DOOR TDI TD5 | eBay

I,ve budgeted for a new door so i,m not bothered about what there charging, but only if it is worth the money!

So gents any advice good or bad ?.....i,m up fur some banter goes wea ma job.:D

Cheers in advnce vinnie

Their add looks good but I haven't heard anything about them as a company. Price does seem quite low which could be good or could be a sign of the build quality. I am sure I saw a back door advertised in LRM for about £300. I need a new one too but I am a good few months away from buying so I will watch the thread to see how you get on.

That's a ****part door same as the one from paddocks infact 99% of the landy parts on ebay are ****part. Unless it specifically says otherwise. you can get a noo ****part door for £140 from paddocks. last time I looked

Cheers fur the replies gents....seems every site you go to on here is selling britpart stuff.....The lads at work get britpart through the system at work and comment on how durable and well constructed they are.....usualy follwed by the part failing, snapping, not fitting and the colourfull lanuage starting!

So any pointers, apart from original parts, not streching that far!...and any second hand ones are to pricey for the condition they are in!

It's metal and its a back door, what more could you want?

Something that aint gonna bend, buckle or rust in the first few years of fitting.....britpart used to supply a lot of parts for the bedford fleet we once had....sh%t quality

have you looked into getting yours repaired? i know you say its shot but if you can get someone to rebuild it then it might be cheaper than an OEM one and better than a ****part one.

If its painted then its not going to rust and its it feels that flimsy then send it back under not fit for use.

I don't perticulary like Britpart stuff, but never had a problem with the stuff I have had.

Cheers....think ma problem is that the lads use their stuff at work and its a "big company" that pays for all the spares.....now that its ma pocket buying spares a,m getting tight!

Yeah looked into that wea the metal benders at work, the frame has totaly had it the spare wheel carrier clearly was a bodge job wea no waterproofing!

Since i,ve got yur attention, anyone know where to get new or nearly new tub cappings?...missed out on some and the sites have dried right up wea used ones , again there shot but might be worth trying to repair if replacements are to expensive.

got a shopping/to do list longer than ma arm the now!:D

Right now that i,ve had a butchers at doors, and i still canna decide time fur ma next question!

Most of the bushes have seen better days or there on the way out...

So i,ve been trawling through deifferent sites and reading up on changing from genuine parts and going for Polybush replacements..

I can tell this gets a heated debate between people but what do you gents think?....Polybushs can be expensive and i can get genuine replacemnet bushes fairly easy.

No doubt in the comming weeks and months i,ll drive folk mental wea questions,........need to think of the pocket more and more now.

Try a search ;)

Daz

aye did that , ended up on some sites wea folk just arguing wea each other:monitor_punch:....rather hear from the horses mouth so to speak.

ma shopping bill is getting bigger and bigger, bolloocks!.....and i,ve no thought of the drive back up north yet!

I would go genuine on the bushes and have a search for grp doors think I saw a company on gumtree. Will try find a kinky for ya

Cheers fur the link they do look the buisness. 550 for 2 doors that should last longer than the rest of the vehicle is not a bad price. Currently i,m waiting for emails back from breakers reference doors....think i,ll stay away from the OM versions on fleabay!

If the breakers giea us a good price then i,m heading down that route.

Currently looking at lighting options as the fixed lights are useless round here , way to dim.. thinking wipac , reasonable price and a quick fix.....the last motor was a 530 wea angel eyes and by christ there is a difference:(
