My newly imported Def 90 has failed its DOE (an Irish MOT for commercial Vehichles) due to its smoke emissions.

What are the emission standards for the MOT (just curious) and any suggestions to bring em down , I had just returned from holidays and hadn't really given her had a good run in a few weeks , would this effect the smoke emissions?

Thanks
Sean

If it had been used for lots of small journeys then a good run is good for the engine, and burns off sooty deposits that build up.

If your having problems with emissions, get some bio diesel in the tank, use this link to find your nearest filling station.

This will drop your emissions. The guy who runs a bio diesel refinary I get bio from got a free emissions test at a tescos car park, he was ridiculously below the allowed limit.

A friend of mine was up at his local garage once, where he knows the guys quite well, they were struggling to get the emissions down, he syphoned a few gallons of bio outta his tank, gave it to them and the car passed an hour later!
