i had a gear selector switch fitted, some of you call this a xy switch i think, but ithink i may need a new piece of electric cable that this plugs into as it was not in great condition when the new bit was fitted. does any body know how long, how far it goes and how easy it is to fit or even if it is available. or would the easiest thing to do be splicing in a new plug?

Is it still showing a fault then ?

If not and you want to add some protection to the loom, just buy some split convulated tube and put that over it.

i thought it had cured it but it still does it but less often. it seeemed to only do it when the roads were wet. a land rover that dont like the wet is not a good thing me thinks. on saying that it done it today in the dry.

Make sure your battery is in good condition, cold weather + failing battery = FIRST issue to throw the m & s lights

cheers panza, im pretty sure the batterey is sweet as a nut. when i had the switch changed the mechanic said the bit it plugged into was in bad condition and he put a cablble tie on it to pull it together. it did it less often after this. it also went on the diagnostic thing and said it was the switch before i had it fitted. so i am convinced rightly or wrongly that this is the guilty bit. wouldnt life be boring if everything was simple
