gstuart + son - hippo

don't worry u will only see my exhaust as I sit on 80 mph, in peace and quiet, cruise control on and in comfort, lol

will have to find a meeting place, garage etc

I've only seen this Fred after posting on the travel distance thread, and don't know how to move it. Livers and I met up in Bury St Edmund last year, and formed the Suffolk massiv all by ourselves.

So for us, sofar it's Flatlander and Mrs. Fl

Well I'm just in Thurrock area so depending on who's coming from Kent we could meet at Thurrock services then onwards and upwards meeting up as we travel ?

Thurrock sounds good to me , where abouts as im trying to remember

is this the one ?

http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Thurrock

maybe if we list our names down and where we will be on route can then stop of at the pre determined places

can put times down as well , lol or an email , mobile to a member so we can give them a call on route so they can stay indoors and can contact them and say will be at this place in ten minutes ??? but would have to do it via pm etc so mobile number and emails arnt public

wonder if the series and fenders will be able to keep up with the hippos, lol

unless somone else has better ideas

so it's

gstuart & son in a black freelander meet at Thurrock services

Ha! Last year Livers informed me that I had done over 80 when overtaking a truck.

Mind you, the noise and vibration definitely kept me alert.

I thought I said "we gave you a 2 hour head start and we done 80 to catch you in 15 minutes"

as we are going to meet up along the route is it ok to put up meeting places , along with make and colour of car plse

if u would be so kind to replace the question marks and the list as u think

hope that doesn't come across as rude , will be good to break up the journey

how many has CB radios fitted , got one I need to put in ,

I will start

Thurrock services , essex

gstuart , black freelander

Haven't discussed with Livers yet, but we will probably be joining just north of Cambridge, on the A14 before it becomes the A1. I have a white 90.

Yeo that's the services as you come out of tunnel keep left take exit and do a right at roundabout.

My defender will keep up at 70 but the disco will do it with ease.

We could start a bet for 1st breakdown bet it will be a Freelander.

that's it jinx it,lol , dont forget mines a td4 not a 1.8

yep know the place now, famous last words

can then take a nice slow poodle up there and meet the others along the way

will need to have a break because of my back etc and also to give the two dogs a stretch

so will u be in the fender or disco

we can compile the list over time so we all know where and when to meet

ok buddy

once u know if u would be so kind to tell us where and what time etc can then meet up with u on route

have thought about putting my CB in , but has anyone else got one in there motor , lol

Just out of interest what time are you travelling or meeting up at the Thurrock Services?

good question

hasnt really come up to be honest ,

I have to take medication in the morning and takes a while to kick in

but wouldnt wish to hold anyone up

if we for example take 4 hours to get there with the stop offs and picking people up along the way imagine we would have to set off by midday

as including myself got to put a tent up , imagine we would like to get there around 4 pm so we can make a day of it getting there, lol

unless people want to leave earlier ,

im happy to go with what everyone else wishes to do, if they want to leave at 10 am that's fine with me also

will be the start of a good laugh

I normally sit on the motorway around 65 mph

what does people think the time we should leave,

I've a CB, so that should help!

got the CB, aerial, swr meter

when I gutted the interior out i laid a new premade CB aerial lead under the side carpet trim away from other wires as I thought just in case I got interference from them ,one end is behind the panel at the back and the other end behind the centre console

got to sort out a power supply for the CB, expect i will try and get a wire from the battery to the centre console, got a nice place in the bulkhead to pass wires though as I know it can't come off a cig lighter

never installed a CB in a car before , only ever used handheld ones and that was a few years ago
