hello folks, a new kid on the block here!
I have a '95 V8 EFI, converted to gas at 38,000 mls, now completed 128500mls.
I've recently had trouble with backfiring on gas, but with a new coil fitted plus rotor arm new cap and leads and plugs, we still have a lumpy engine. It was suggested it could be the airflow meter, so I've borrowed one, and it didn't seem to help.
Today, I've rechecked the leads are to the right cylinders, and then when I had the leads off, in turn, it was clear, that cylinders 1 and 2 on the nearside bank made little difference.
Cylinder pressures are all roughly the same..........new head gaskets both sides, 15,000 miles ago.
Could it be injectors??
Where do I look next?
I'm going to check cylinder pressures again tomorrow, just to be sure. Any help would be good please

Check all the hoses, and i mean all the hoses that are part of the inlet and breather system. The V8's are a pig if they get unmetered air in and theres loads of ways for this to happen as i found out :D

Get a mate to rev engine up then listen for hisses etc. Mine had a tiny split in one of the breather pipes, ran lumpy as fook until i found it!

I hope this helps matey

Perahps we are getting somewhere. Last night, I took the leads off, one by one and found that 2 pots weren't having much effect. This a.m. another compression test revealed only 50 psi on No2 pot right hand side.
So I guess its a head off job for next week. peculiar that the pressure should suddenly go?
