Good evening all,

Just joined today after gleaning lots of useful info lately. I’ve just bought a ‘53 Discovery TD5, manual, 5 seater. I got it from a farmer who doesn’t use it. It’s only got 58,000 miles on it with full LR service history. After two days solid cleaning it up it’s looking like new. Hoping I’ve stumbled across a bargain.

Looks very nice do all the gears work as should what’s it like underneath
Yes it drives really well. All seats had been covered so underneath all the mud it’s like new. Mechanically it’s really good and underneath is solid. Needs new tyres as it’s sat for 7 months without even being started. Having new tyres and service this week. I’m trying to value it but not sure where to go.

We won’t know if it was a bargain until, or if you want to tell us what you paid for it.

Sounds like it might be a bargain.....
If the rear chassis doesn't need plating /replacing
and all the electrickery works.
You don't get owt fer nowt, but if he really is a good mate and wants to stay as such...

Best of luck wiv it mate!:):):)
Cheers, it’s had four new General Grabbers yesterday and flew through MOT today without a single advisory. Garage said emissions really low and chassis solid. Happy Days!
