Hello, has anybody put an lt77 defender 5 speed gear box using the Ashcroft conversion kit where you use the standard transfer box at the back. I am wonder what it is like and do you have to mod the front and rear props. Thanks for your help. Is there any tricky about this on version. I have already put in a standard 2.5 na diesel from a defender.
 
If you read Ashcrofts webpage you don't need to mod props but it does entail moving engine forward 4" and some crossmember mods a job for the summer?
 
Did read the bit about moving engine forward but was not sure if this was neck assay using the standard trans box. Given I have put in a 2.5 diesel which is a longer engine moving it forward would require major mods. Best look on eBay for quality standard box.
