stand it on its rear end bell housing facing up first theres 2 shims and a gasket gasket needs replacing if it splits it it doesnt just add a little sealant to it
Well got it drained and the cover off. At least it had ATF in it. Not too much swarf on the plug and although the shaft needs a bit of a clean up doesn't look like any water/rust made its way through to the bearings. What do you reckon?
Not to bad, nothing got past the input seal but the rust in there would probably done for the seal had you just used it, good clean up and new seal and gasket good to go. Wait for jamesmartin he's the gearbox expert here.
Just noticed on the Timken bearing it says Made in England! Rare thing to see now, on anything!! Shame. They had a factory not far from me in Northampton as I remember.
