Hi all,
I have spent 2 days, without much success, researching the best jizz to use to re-seal my transfer boxes. It appears to be a later one, using sealant instead of gaskets and has many weeps, leaks and drips.
The box was fitted in haste last week and I will have to remove it again to fix the leaks. I’m fine with that but I don’t want to do the job only to have it still waz it’s contents all over the place!
To that end, I would love a definitive, verified answer to the question,
“which is the best sealant / gasket maker to use to reseal the mating faces on the transfer box?”
Preferably from someone who has actually done the job and achieved success!
I don’t want to go back to gaskets because:
A - they’re crap too.
B - I don’t really want to go through the box resetting preloads etc to account for the gaskets.
The internet is awash with all sorts of contradictions and “x is better than y” but no explanation given as to why. My heads buzzing!
Cheers,
Rich
