Hi lads I was out yesterday in my disco doing a particular hard climb (all stone this one) and fecked my rear diff so it's time to up grade but I don't know what would be best for me either a ARB LSD or a Detriot locker, the budget wont stretch to a ARB air locker,it's my weekend toy and does get used on the road but not a lot,the off roading I do is 50/50 mud and rock,Paddocks have both and have the best prices by far,any personal experience in this that anybody wants to share would be good, cheers lance

First time i've seen an electronic locker, the only thing that would make me get an ashcroft/arb over one of those is the fact they are tried and tested.

Going to have a quick google and see if i can find anybody who has one fitted :)

After asking plenty of questions,I'm gonna go for a Detriot locker in the back (not the true track but the full locker)with up rated half shalfs and a Ashcroft LSD in the front,I drove my mates disco with this set up and the difference is unbelievable,he has been this set up for years now with no problems and we are pretty hard on our landies over here in Portugal

I had a Detroit in the back of my 90, and a lsd in the front, there's no substitute for 100% locked, the lsd was good, mine was a trutrac if you moving it's fine but stop and it won't just start working again you have to brake ect,

If you fit a Detroit then fit done hd resr shafts as the ones I've seen broken are due to drive shaft failur,

Landy lance: if you broke detroit locker you will not be able to get replacement parts..
mine lying broken for 4 years in basement.. bought other brand then..
if you get other brand - you will save money in future..

There's plenty of broken ones around to make a good one if you know where to look
