I want to convert my range rover to run on lpg.
So my qestion is how much should i be looking at spending.

Im planning on fitting the kit my self with a guy who has done one before.

Are there any available second hand?

Do thay make any diffrence the mpg i dint think so but????

And last of all does any one have any links the some for sale.
THANKS.

i have a 4.6 LPg'd and got the kit from tinleytec in cambridgshire. can be self fitted or by them. very helpful and knowledgable. have been using it for about 2 years. multi injection dfor 4.6. single point injecrion for 3.9 self kit can be done over a weekend

good luck

I'm in Australia and the fitting of LPG has to be done by a qualified LPG for cars Gas fitter as there are standards that have to be observed like where the safety cut offs and how many should be fitted and also the tank has to be tested and the multivalves be renewed every 10 years. also the type of pipes to be fitted and the joins that may be used.
I dont know the rules in the uk but i should imagine that they would be similar and a certificate issued before the vehicle be allowed on the road.
So fitting yourself would not be an option here.

One can diy fit an LPG system here, but have to have it tested by a professional, licensed company in order to 1. insure it on LPG and 2. have the log book changed to LPG

Silly question again does it make any difrence to your insurance.
Also i herd it makes your tax cheaper once the log book is changed over.

Hi I had my 4.0 ltr P38 Westminster fitted with LPG approx two years ago.

The system I have is a Prinz. £2,000 fitted.

Prinz do a cheaper system (not too sure of the name) it uses different injectors.

I find the car runs better on LPG than petrol.

I informed my insurance company NFU and sent them a copy of the certificate.
No increase on the annual premium.

Informed DVLA and sent off a copy of the certificate plus the tax disk. Duty £235.00 pa. It may have gone up with the April 2011 budget. Tax disk says Alternative Fuel.

I would advise to have the system fitted by professional.

One word of advice. Check all the water pipe connections for leaks after installing....at least for a week.
