Used standard ngk single electrode for years, all that fancy sales patter on expensive types is BS if you ask me

I will order some NGK standard ones then, some guys told me I needed silver ones like Brisk but I suppose new plugs and new leads are going to freshen up the spark anyway.

Are standard leads 8mm?

good quality leads and bosch plat super fours plugs are what i put in. but each prefer thier own experiences when it comes to plugs and such. but i can't complain they,ve done everything i,ve asked of them.

We have used Champion Double Platinum plugs on both our V8 D2's and they have been very good.

One thing that does happen is that the earth terrminal distorts with heat and the gap needs closing up every now and then.

The standard D2 plug is a Champion RC11PYPB4, which is a double-platinum long-life plug.

We use a Champion 7318 which is a slightly better plug in our experience, but not available generally in the UK. We pick ours up when we are over in California on holiday.

Peter, over the years I have seen many ignition and fuel trim related faults on Rover v8's - esp when running on gas... The truth is they are more likely to be long term reliable on a basic plug like an NGK BPR6ES. Reason being that they require less voltage to fire and so place less stress on leads and coil packs - esp when its damp. The old Rover motor is just a low performance pushrod engine, not a 10,000rpm multivalve unit. It just needs a reliable spark for EVERY firing stroke on each cylinder. This is often why fuel trims get so out of kilter on them,a misfire or partial misfire sends a slug of unburnt air over the oxygen sensor - which then widens the injector pulse widths and move the long term trims from where they should be.
Finding decent quality leads is the bigger deal, now even the genuine ones are made in China...

We use STI leads, bought a couple of sets over with us from the USA.

The plug leads that were on the car were Champion, still working but changed as a precaution.

Lead sets from ebay are a waste of money in our experience.

Std plugs are fine.

I personally only fit platinum or iridium plugs if they are a right pain to change, as in my old merc v280, or my Lexus, and they quote long service intervals.

Plugs are easy to change in the RV8.

I use Magnecor leads, aftermarket uprated coil, and ngk plugs re-gapped to 0.7mm. As long as the LPG system is set up right,it runs great. Irridiums aren't recommended for LPG apparently.

It's ok to use a magma or lead but the lock on my wallet won't open that far unless the wife has it!
For years I have used high performance silicone leads from the guys in Derbyshire who's name escapes me
May be paddocks.
Check continuity once in a while and change as necessary then jobs a good un, runs as sweet as can be.

Just transformed my V8 gas conversion with magnecore leads and double platinum champions. All is well over 'ere. I've trawled lots of forums and there is no definitive answer but lots of personal advice. best of luck with your choice.
