Hi guys,

Just picked up my Disco last night, its a 1998 3.9v8 5dr with LPG conversion.

I filled the LPG up last night and once I had left the forecourt on petrol and then proceeded to switch to Gas. I managed to drive about 5 miles until the car just cut out and wouldnt restart, on gas or petrol!

The little switch box has a Lamda check thing and the lights on that were randomly flashing whilst I was driving!

The only thing up with the car is it has a cracked airbox (new one ordered) could this be the cause of it cutting out? I am too scared to switch it to Gas again until I know what the problem is as I dont want to do any damage to the engine or system.

Any help would be appreciated.

put some tape over the crack in the air box just to rule that out im not really clued up on gas so i cant help you to much only know the basics if you can wait till tonight when the big boys are they will help you for sure

Yeah there is no rush, it runs fine on petrol... just costs me alot more!

when it run on gas was it running ok

Yeah it was running fine, then it just cut out!

sounds like a electric to me but i cant be sure i would say as mmadock when he is on tonight he knows his stuff

I dont this it has been used an aweful lot as the previous owner did not live near any filling stations. Could it just require a service?
