Hi guys a little help needed please. I need to do the cam cover gaskets on my 2002 M62 engine which is not really an issue normally however I have lpg fitted and have never worked on anything with lpg before. My question is how do I disconnect the lpg safely so I can move the injectors over. Can I simply remove the pipes from the injectors or not?? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers guys.

Simply answer yes.......with the ignition off the lpg system like all the rest is dead you will get residual gas in the pipes escape but that's about it.
I didn't need to remove any of that todo my cam cover gaskets why do you need to remove urs

Thanks for the info, I need to disconnect mine as my system has the injectors in the valley basically and the piping over the top of the covers stops me from pulling them off.

Did mine all those years ago on my 02, also with Lpg but didn't need to remove any of that (from memory), Cam cover gaskets were very hard and brittle, due probably to thye M62 running quite hot as the norm.

I'd recommend replacing the cam cover retaing bolt washers/grommets as these harden equally bad.

Gaskets may also leak due to a gubbed PCV valve, bit of a faff to change anol.

The bottom of the passenger side bank is wet all along. Will change the gommets as well while I’m there. Anything else worth looking at while I’m doing this

On the N/S bank, there is the breather tube from the front diff, just in case you wonder what it is, it's black and about 7mm.

To finish this off gaskets were replaced and grommets. Managed to do without take if the wiring and box for the coil packs off. Tricky but do able. All ok and running fine
