For my sins took a trip up to watch Man U last night. To save some shillings took the LPG'd Classic. Had a good steady run and didn't have to think about refilling with LPG until on the way home. About halfway between Manchester and Birmingham on the M6. First 2 service stations didn't do it:( 3rd did it but didn't have any:mad: Next couple didn't do it. Run out of LPG just past Brum, tried next service stn, had it but pump not working:rolleyes: Didn't bother stopping again and finished journey on Petrol!!
Covered about 80 miles on one of the Uk's busiest stretches of motorway and despite several attempts to get LPG was unsuccessful.
What with the daily increases in LPG really starting to think a Diesel RR is the only way foward.

On a good note the Classic didn't miss a beat and averaged 18mpg on LPG until it run out:)

so what is lpg costing now and how often is it going up- same rate as petrol and diesel?

Didn't the Govt make a commitment to keep the price difference between LPG and petrol constant, and for any future increases in tax or any other decrease in the saving over petrol requiring an announcement 3 years prior to the change??

Tell that to the profiteering buggring petrol stations. It's not tax driving the prices up.

I've got some overlays/POI on my TomTom now which show me where the lpg stations are. Some of the free overlays are considerably out of date but go-autogas.com is supposed to have up to date ones.

Morrissons used to do a book with all the lpg stations in,, if your ever on the M5 around bristol go into cribs causway asda and morrisons both do lpg at a good price,

i always found the same problem with getting gas on the motorways, during the day i would always try and find the nearest flowgas depot, they are up to 10p a litre cheaper than most petrol stations !!

Whilst I agree they are profiteering a-holes, I think I am correct in saying the Government make more out of fuel duty than they make profit? And, of course, they get taxed on their profits too. I don't object to people making a profit, but the Government take an obscene cut for doing nothing!

If you compare petrol or diesel to the price of bottled water, it's a bargain. Petrol, which has to be refined from crude oil, loads of additives going in and being shipped to forecourts across the country, all for £1.20 /litre! Compare that to Evian or Vittel turning on a tap, filling a bottle of water and selling that for anywhere between 80p and £2.50 /litre - rip-off!!

only trouble is the Rangie needs 80 litres a week, where as I can get by on 8:D

Shell in Pinner has gone from 66p a litre to 75p a litre in approx 5 weeks:mad:

I get mine from a local boat yard, currently 67p, says its going up to 78p coz of the vat increase. 67+ 2.5% = 68.67. Work that one out.

Profiteering buggers. My favourite 'local' one claimed the increase before last was due to a tax increase. Pretty sure that was a lie.

I don't understand why anyone would buy bottled water in this country. My missus does it and then complains at the cost of my tobacco!
