As the post says really. Given the price of key fobs for lowering the suspension and picking up a trailer or caravan on the tow hitch ( or even getting it in though the garage door thats just that wee bit too low) how usefull does the collective think a self contained set up would be if it could be worked by the aid of a dash switch. All contained in a box which would be placed on the chassis close to the compressor area. Does something already exist?? has someone done it . I have a few ideas in my head at the minute so would be interested in your inputs. Also it could alsoincorporate a set of remote valves to inflate the susp in an emergency. Should the compressor ever fail.

I am certainly NOT offering a service but I can see where you get that idea I will amend the post. I was merely looking for ideas on how usefull it might be to others If I was to do a how to on this.

This exists as a circuit board with connectors and a dash mounted switch. Pretty much does what the original plip would do but wired. Also there are fairly easily available valves to inflate the suspension bags in emergencies.

Well its already been done but much more in depth than i had in mind. my idea was to fit tee pieces to the bag lines and electrical solenoid valves to dump the air from the valve. The same sitch to work the solenoid valve would also work a relay. Which would trip out the compressor because i'd imagine would want to run as soon as the height sensors/air pressure to the slabs of changes. the only point I was not convinced about was whether a slabs fault would show up. David Pye's looks jut the job though. As for the initial comment I edited out it was merely a case of, if the idea worked, and the collective input was good, then any trollers could pick up the intellectual property and begin to make money out of it ( as has happened many times I suspect).

Each solution has advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage of mine is that by 'using' the SLABS ecu, it interfaces nicely with the original LR specs - you can't lower the suspension while driving etc.

The disadvantage is that if the SLABS ecu screws up or the height sensors break/fail, then my system will also fail, whereas yours will still allow you to do something with the suspension.

Re people making money out of things - I'm quite relaxed about that. I posted the specs/design/code etc online for free, and if anyone wants to make one themselves, so be it. If they don't, then I'm there ;-)
