I have a small issue that could easily turn into a bigger one if I don't do anything about it soon. My lower glovebox won't open. It used to be sporadic but now it's not playing the game at all. The upper one opens just fine but the switch doesn't illuminate any longer, that could be a clue. I have checked the Fues in the rear compartment and it is fine, there is power etc. and the wiring all looks good.

So, has anyone got any tips for how to remove it to inspect the catch that don't involve buying a replacement door first? I am concerned that we may not have connected it properly when it was all out a few months back and that if the connector has come off, I'm a bit stuck.

Does the switch just pry out of the dash? I have wiring diagrams so I may be able to put some power down the wire if I can get to it and it's simply a case of a faulty switch.

I say it could turn into a bigger issue because I can't get to the main fusebox if I can't open the glovebox and you know how these things go...

Yes could soon develop into destroying something.
I would think its just a push in fit, but I bet its not a simple pull out/pries out ;).

If you removed the upper glove box could you get to it easier?

I seem to recall the lower glovebox comes out to reveal the screws holding the upper one, if one should fail, it would definitely be this one wouldn't it? :)
