Hi guys.

Does anyone know why the replacement ball joint is quite a bit thicker than the original part? I have checked it again with the supplier (Rimmer Bros) and it is the correct part.

If my mechanic hammers it in will it fit of will it split the wishbone?

Thanks in advance.

Two different sizes, thicker one is a superseded part for later wishbones, they are not interchangeable, you will need to fit wish one complete unless older type are in stock somewhere

Should read wishbone , if you search hippo's posts he had the same dilemma, but I can't remember the outcome

tis true I had this problem anorl. The only option you have is to fit the like for like part ball joint. The bigger one won't hammer in. Well it will, but it will split the arm open. I'm not an mot inspector and don't claim to be, but I would be surprised if an mot inspector would allow a split arm to pass the next mot. Do yerself a favour and fit a whole new arm. I know it costs more but it's far less hassle and safer than drilling + messing about. there's loads of peeps who successfully drill but I can confirm i'm not fekin about drilling again.

Thanks for all the helps guys. Getting the wishbone this morning. At least I'll have a replacement joint for it now.

Cheers
