I spent a lot of time looking at diesel LPG systems a few years ago. Unfortunately it seems to be a dark art and I only found a handful of people I was happy with to actually do the install.
There's two different types of LPG systems to consider on diesels, although you could just go very basic and fit a mixer plate.

I was looking towards a sequential Europgas system for my Mondeo. They have a system fully designed for common rail diesels. The system incorporates a knock sensor, EGT sensor and a fuel pressure emulator over other systems. The LPG ECU monitors engine load, temperatures, knock etc, reduces the amount of diesel injected by reducing the fuel pressure and substitutes it with LPG upto a 50% ratio. This kind of system is bullet proof and will only help your engine long term as it will be burning much cleaner.

Other systems just use basic sensors and a basic map to add fuel. Most are single point systems. Work fine but only allow LPG in small quantities. They offer no extra protection other than coolant temperature monitoring. Advantages are you will get extra performance. Not just because you have extra fuel in the cylinder but because you will be getting a much cleaner burn from the diesel. You will also get a small decrease in running costs and a quieter engine.

Well, the Saga continues. I did some research on the net, searching for 1994-96, 300 TDI Statin Wagons just like mine, foe sale. I found 25. I plugged their registration number into the TFL database, and 20 out of those 25 are not subject to the LEZ/ How is that? How can identical vehicles (some wth bench seats, some had them removed) not be subject to the LEZ, but I am? Sounds like a mistake?

Well everyone, I am getting my game face on, getting on my hose and yelling FREEDOM....Screw the environmental Marxists communists! I am going all in! They can spew tons of carbon into the air in India and China and no one care, and I cant even use my landy for a camping or hunting trip with my son once a month! Its all NUTS!

The issue is Nox and particulates, in both cases diesel's are far more polluting than petrols.

The misguided VED taxation was based around Co2, which diesel's produce less of, ironically forcing people into vehicles far worse for human health.

Only now are they realizing their mistake.

Save the environment... go petrol :)

Got a mate with an LEZ compliant LR similar to yours? Does he trust you? Copy his plates and drive in the LEZ with impunity. I'm not saying you should but it does not take a genius to work out that is what a lot of peeps will be doing. They (TFL) only have themselves to blame as the LEZ legislation is barmy. I had two Defenders the same age with the exact same and identical TD5 engines and one was compliant and one not. How does windows and rear seats affect emissions? I'm still waiting for TFL to answer that one. Btw I sold the non compliant one before it became un-sellable.

I checked the VIN (SALLDHMF7TA######), It has the M, so its a 5-door station wagon including rear door (LWB). It even says SWTDI on the model in the V5C.
So I just replace the seats and resend the forms? The problem is that I already sent them photos with the bench seats on my initial application. Will they allow me to just change the seating?

Thanks for all the help. I already renovated her and put so much time into her. Its depressing.

I know exactly how you must feel. I am in the throes of a similar situation. I hope to know the results next week. How did your position end up?

I had a similar battle, though didn’t get stuck in as much as you, it didn’t go my way.

He was posting for 3 years after this thread but hasn't posted for another 3 years.

This is now happening in Manchester.

Basically any Land Rover classed as "commercial" will be subject to a charge of £9 per day, and Manchester's clean air zone isn't just the city centre, it goes right out to the borders with Derbyshire

Defenders have started to come up for sale, and local prices have fallen.

l feel sorry for any tradesperson with a van over about six years old (not Euro 6) as their vehicle will effectively be scrap after 2022.

lt won't. These are exactly the vehicles they want to get rid of.
My 2005 110 Station Wagon isn't exempt and it's got the nine seats with individual folding seats in the back, so it should be exempt.

Fortunately my brother has moved out of London, so now l've no reason to go there in the vehicle

I wasn’t that bothered. My feeling is these aren’t vehicles for big cities. Having lived in london for many years the air quality is awful and I do actually agree with the LEZ, there and else where.

Well that's the thing, the only way to improve air quality is to remove higher polluting vehicles, there's no way around it.

The air quality in London is poor, that's why my brother moved out of the city, half the kids are on inhalers
