T towser New Member Jul 20, 2014 #1 my freelander 2 makes a loud ticking noise when the engine is turned off there is also a high pitch whining noise related to the ticking. This lasts for about thirty seconds, please advise.

Iann Active Member Jul 20, 2014 #2 if it a diesel it may have a oil spinner / centrifugal oil cleaner that caries on spinning to a stop when the engine is turned off locate it (if it has one ) and see if its making your ticking sound aswell If it aint got one I dont know
