Hi guys,

been a while since iv been on here!
I have a freelander 1.
Got a quick mechanical question.

When I turn a sharp right, I.e round a small tight roundabout as I accelerate away I get a loud thumping, juddering noice from the left side towwrds the back of the car, I can feel the vibrations in my pwm amd in the passenger seat so was just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it could be???

Iv checked the tyre and tyre pressure etc all fine!

Any help would be great!!

Thanks :)

Probably the diff mountings - usually the front one; I had the same symptoms. Search the forum on how to fix - I did it on mine whilst changing the VCU.

Check your wheel bearings, and stupid as this sounds check your wheel nuts are tight. But a suicidal wheel bearing gives same symptoms as I recently found out :)

Or Viscous coupling mounting bearings. The rubber mounts perish, and the vc bearings hit the steel bearing mounts, because as you turn a corner the propshaft winds up.
