I am new to Defenders but so far so good, However, I need a little reassurance because I'm getting rid of a perfectly good L200 for a 1995 Defender 90 300 Tdi!!! Reassurance is even more necessary because the Defender I bought sometimes makes a loud bang when moving off. Either in a straight line or turning and it's always associated with having reversed directly before.
I am sure it is to do with the transmission in some way shape or form. It is annoyingly intermittent and it only bangs once until the next time.
I did see a post on something very similar on this forum and it was suggested that it was chassis bushes (I think) but the 'fix' was never confirmed (I don't think). It's definitely something to do with the transmission and is definitely something to do with going into reverse beforehand.
Any ideas.... please !!
Thanks!
