Hi all I have a 51 p38 2.5tdi. My first ever Range Rover/4x4 it started fine the first two days then the third day it turn over but wouldn't start. I primed the ignition before I cranked it over. After the 4th or 5th time the battery appeared to go flat. The ignition lights went out then when it came back on error messages appeared saying:

Rh window not set (same 4 all windows)
All windows still go up/dwn.
Air bag with SrS light ( Srs lite goes off then comes back on.
Disabled engine.
I put the battery on charge over night
( cargo heavy duty 640hd 12v 100ah 900A)
This morning put the battery back the disabled engine message had gone back the rest are still there. I primed the glow plugs and it cranked over but didn't start. My neighbor say it smoked from the exhaust. since then it still hasn't started and it appears there is no smoke from the exhaust when cranked about five tries the battery appears to be low again due to the lights in the car dimming. I checked the first injector and there's diesel in the pipe. Is there anyone out there that has made it through this essay and has any advice I'm all ears and thanks fine the time.

Windows not set is normal after a flat battery. run the windows all the way down, then all the way up and hold for 5 seconds and you will get a "window set" message on the display.
SRS light may mean a fault needs clearing due to the flat battery.
Disabled engine sounds like loss of sync again due to a flat battery, this may need diagnostics or possibly the EKA code.
It sounds as though the battery is on the way out. what did you use to charge it?
900CCA is a bit low IMO, 1,000CCA is better. These cars demand plenty of power.

Thanks for the replys.
Don't know If it matters but the disabled engine error is not coming up now and the central locking works.
Some one I know says if the check engine light comes on and goes off there is a signal to the ecu?.... just quoting. It never came with the eka code is there any way of obtaining it?

You should be able to get the EKA code FOC if it's not with the cars documentation by quoting the VIN to a Land Rover Dealer.
Sounds like all your problems could just be a weak battery. What have you done to charge it?

Sorry didn't see my last one send.... the charger is a challenge xtreme model mch12a
Presumably that means a 12 amp output? Your battery is 640 amp hour so I would give the battery 24 hours on charge and see what voltage you have half an hour after the battery charger is disconnected, it should be around 12.8 volts.

And proof of ownership, Inc photo I'd.

it's not like they get enough money as is.
Not sure where one is near but I'll have time to locate one while I what for the log book . The green slip won't work?

And as soon as the glow warning light goes off turn the key dont hesitate because when the lights off the glows are off and going cold.

How are you getting on with your battery?
It may seem like your prize bus is kicking you at the moment. Once you've got it running the suspension is next to go on the list.
One step at a time buddy.
Let us know where about you are there maybe a knight in shining landrover paint waiting to help.;)
