hello everyone,for the last year or so i,ve had a coolant lose problem and theres also pressure in the system.i,ve had a head gasket check done which came out ok.i,m looking into this because i,m looking at selling the car but me been the honest type would rather sell knowing all is ok.what d,ya reckon.water pump?,valley gasket?the car does,nt overheat.cheers craig

What check have you had done? I've had sniff test done on two 3.9V8 and they both came back fine.
Does it have LPG cause mine do? That maybe why they didn't show.
I then did compression test that showed the gasket had gone. Other people have found a small leak towards the back of the engine that dries up before it drips, can you smell the coolant been burnt off?
You say pressure in the coolant system, how much pressure? Can you squeeze the top hose once up to temp all though or is it like a steel pipe? Because there will be some pressure there anyhow.
yes mate,the cars lpg,not quite sure what the test is called but you hold a some liquid in a jar near the exhaust to see if it changes colour,well something like that,if it were h/gasket would,nt the engine overheat?yes i can smell burning coolant,maybe i have a valley gasket leak?top hose when engines at temp is solid but the mechanic told me ts normal for pressure build up and if anything was going to blow it would be the coolant reservoir cap first.

oh not that much mate,about half litre for 150 miles but like i say because i,m selling i feel its my duty to investigate before i let her go.i,ll purchase a valley gasket the weekend strip her down and check water pump see if that makes any differance.cheers
