OK, just had my wheels and tyres changed and the tyre shop noticed the front wheel was loose, even with the bolts done up it could be wiggled top and bottom and left and right, I have no warning lights so am guessing its not the wheel bearing!
Could it be the CV joint, don't get any noise that I can hear but I do get a pull on the steering to the same side.
Help please I am really new to these

so the D2 comes with a warning light for the wheel bearing, now thats fancy, oops edit sorry thats bollox.

its the bearings, either hub or top or bottom swivel, get em checked by somebody who knows what they are doing coz i get the feeling you dont.

Cheers for all the advice helpful as always, ordered me a new hub so gonna put it on at the weekend, and yes CC that's exactly what I meant

As for not knowing what I am doing, you've got a point Discopol, but if I ask enough questions and generous people are happy to give their advice then maybe I'll learn a few things and have a go at fixing them myself rather than paying extortionate rates at dealers or mechanics

Thanks again all

^^^ +1 ... that stetement is not to be blamed cos IMO it's spot on... as long as we read wheel hub instead of bearing ...cos if the bearing within the hub is so worn to feel movement in the wheel in 99.99% of cases the 3 amigos are on

very true id be looking at top and bottom swivel ball joints

Just a quick update to this thread, fitted a replacement hub unit yesterday and all fixed, looks like someone had tried to replace in the past, rounded the bolts a bit and gave up, they fitted a new stake nut though, perhaps they ripped off the previous owner LOL
Thanks to CambridgeCockney for all his hard work and tools
