hi all just got hold of a double cab has got the tilt on the back but I am looking to modify the frame of the tilt so it is a more solid construction i.e. build a frame from 40mm steel tube with weld mesh on the outside but to still be able to fit the same tilt will also sort a rear gate so when the dogs or equipment is in the back it / they will be reasonably safe any one know someone who has done this I cant believe that no one has not done it by the way want to get it plastic coated as well

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Ive never seen it done but the materials wont be hard to come by, and shouldn't be too hard to weld together either. If you base it on the dimensions of the current frame and work from there you shouldn't go to far wrong really? as for the rear door, make a hinged frame with mesh in again similar to the ifor williams style door that would be lockable and fairly safe.

thats the idea Scottant i am a new member on here so thought someone may have done one before drove 4x4 with work for a while now but am picking up double cab on Sat fun starts then will probably find a local fabricator will let you know how it turns out
