Hi guys

Searching for a roof rack for my Freelander. Any suggestions on where to find this? Ive seen that there are some racks especialy for the Freelander but they are hard to find.

Thanx!

Only good looking rack IMO is Safety Devices - but need to look hard, and it will be from second hand.
Others look like tratter def or disco :p , but if you need only functionality you can go for Hannibal Expedition, Brownchurch , or get something that will fit on your standard roof rails (some platform) like LR Expedition rack (quite noisy) or other basket/platform type.

Do you need a full roof rack or could you manage with the standard roof rails and removable bars which fit across?

Here u go. As you can see its just a Volkswagen roofrack placed on the rails. Does the job for the moment. Im driving about 1000km each week, both highway and offroad. Easy to remove the rack when I dont need it, or just want to place my mtb on the roof.

Looks good man. Cheap as chips too compared to the fitted ones.. I have cross bars myself.. But would love the proper rack..

Does the job, think it might look better sprayed black, a job for the spring then!!

Kind of difficult to fit on the 3-door. Unless you have the hen's teeth roof rails. Even crappy rail sets with bits missing get £100+ these days.

I'm liking the black wheels against the body's blue which I'm guessing it's 849 Cairns blue. I've just bought a Cairns blue SE and was thinking about black rims on it. I have D3 that has black rims so like to look.

Thanks for the picture

Thanks Nodge, yeah, you're right, it's Cairns blue. Bought the rims of flea bay, £42 for the 5 (bargain!) and refurbed them myself in satin black. I think they look better than the original alloys it came with.

Reckon the roof rack would look better in black too??
Looks nice and has given me a reason to crack out the paint when the weather improves.
I might go gloss black like my D3 rims. I do wish my beloved Pirelli ATR were available in a Freelander compatible size.
