:welcome2: And how good are you with wrenches and sockets, welding, grinder, got a garage to work in, or driveway ,or on the street. You got another car to drive while you fix it?

I'm pretty handy with tools but can't weld but my mate can but no garage but I know people with units I could use and only work 2mile away so worst case could walk but surely if I'm not off-roading in it there's not a lot that could go wrong ?

mine has never failed to get me home, ever. and i drive mine hard and durty so dont listen to the Yank, hell he doesnt even have one:rolleyes:

I'll take that as a yes then because I have been doing some reading up and some people are saying that if you buy a low mileage service history one you shouldn't get any problems they are ment to be bullet proof but just wanted to check first as I ride motocross and would use it to tow my bikes on a trailer
Thanks

what do you call low miles?

Timing belts need changing and motor re timed

You really need to have a good look, they are good but do not expect to not work on them

About 100k and yhh I don't mind working on them I want to find one that has just had all the rust took out and new stuff welded in so I can underseal it to stop it rotting again and I will get my mate who is a mechanic to do that the first think I'd do is give it a full service changing all the oils and filters and just a general once over

But if I underseal it like every six months and keep an eye on it should be okay surely anyway I'm keeping an eye out for a discovery 300tdi so as soon as I find one I'll upload some pictures :D

OK BB here is a example of a NEWBIE wanting a Land rover and he cant ask in the wanted section. What does he do???????????? Maybe a member might be able to help him but how?

He can look in the For Sale section like every other fecker ...

I have been looking in the for sale section I'm also gonna check out eBay and some other sites and see what I can find

Post any links you find of landies you're interested in and members can give you advice on condition / price etc and put a location in your profile, someone local to you may be willing to go and look at one with you if you bribe them......

We generally accept cake as bribing currency round here ;):D
