Just a quick one: I've got a D1, 200 series V8, been lifted for years, done properly with cranked rear arms, castor correction front arms, etc. However, it's now needing springs, as one spring has broken and looking at the others don't look like they are going to be far behind. I'm wary of getting the springs wrong, as I've seen a few people ruin what was a nice vehicle going for "the default" +2" Heavy Duty, springs and shocks.

I want to retain the supple ride quality, so don't want to over spec the springs, and I cannot just buy like-for-like replacements as the setup is Bearmach Tuffback +3" shocks and if I mind correctly, +3" springs? With Bearmach sadly having gone into administration, that's a no-go, and as far as I can see everyone else seems to sell +2" not +3" springs? So the best I think I'm going to get is +2" springs? But which ones?

The disco's got a few bits of added kit, so it is a little bit heavier, but it's not like a fully armoured snatch 110 sort of heavy. It's got a Devon 4x4 Heavy Duty winch bumper, matching D4x4 HD rear bumper, Rebel 4x4 aluminium steering guard which has a steel frame, and a homemade 5mm steel plate fuel tank guard, so it's not all that heavy, and I want it to be as soft as possible - but I'm also wary about not allowing for the weight of aforementioned off road toys and ending up back at standard height once the springs compress?

What springs do you recommend for a vehicle with this sort of spec?

You could get heavy duty rears and standard rears, then put the standard rears on the front.
This should give you a 2" lift.
It is what I did years ago. I.e. I had HD rears put on and, at the suggestion of the mech who did it, he put the rears on the front. Rides lovely.
(Did it cos i was going to do a lot of heavy towing.)
I can pm you a pic of it with the trailer attached if you like.

Hi Stanley, that sounds interesting, I'd love to see the pics, so please send them. Only thing is I've removed the towbar, so as ingenious as standard rears in the front is, I might need a different rear setup.

There's a company called full flex springs that advertise on Facebook, I've not used them myself but they have good reviews. Might be an option for you

Ok, I think i only have one pic, and that shows it hitched up to my trailer, but I'll put it up.
