The tyres on my Disco are not looking too great. Looking to get some new one soon. But relatively cheap. Might offroad some time in the future, but nothing extreme... maybe a bumpy field lol.

I'v found Kingpin Advantage KPC remoulds for £170 for four. Thats the cheapest i can find. Are they that cheap because they suck?

remoulds aren't really the safe. In that the tread has a habit of peeling off,or they can become oval in no time. I just picked up a set of grabbers partworn from my local scrappy and have very good tread and they worked out at £30 per tyre fitted and baslanced. shop around on ebay also there are some good deals. Failing that try UK Tyres Online: Cheap Car tyres | Blackcircles.com.

i had insa turbo dakar 235/75/16 on my defender there ace as loads of people on hear will agree for the money (180) a set of four there a real bargain :D
there just copies of bf goodrich mud terrains in a remould

Where can i get these for 180?

Utter Rubbish... If they wern't safe they wouldn't allow them to be and sold and used. They have to meet specific Standards and EC Regs. There's a lot more vehicles/Trucks out on the road with Re-Treads than people think with near enough ALL HGV's running on them.

so why then when you go and ask for remoulds at tyre bays do they say there not safe. I have had a three remoulds lose tread and go out of shape. Its just what i think and does not mean that others should do or say what i say, think,or do. Stop jumping down peoples throats just for having an opinion please

probs cus they want you to spent more on non re mould/treaded tyres:p

Sooooo.... avoid the kingpins then yeah?

Iv got a budget of around £200 fitted. It doesnt leave me with alot of options i know

um dakars might be a bit over that fitted, if only you had this post two weeks ago sold my dakars on freestyle es alloys would of let you have um for 200

Hahaha. thanks for the sentiment. Hopefully another deal will come up.

I'v got some spare rubber before i have to change them.. so not a big problem yet

I had Kingpins on an old series 3 and couldn't fault them for everything from motorway towing to green-laning ... mind you, it never went above 65, and mostly stuck at 55 'cos that was where it vibrated less and you could (on a decent tarmac road) hold a conversation!! ;)

i have kingpin amazons as my MT set. On my previous disco, i did a 1000 mile trip (combination of A-Road/m-way & forest route/greenlanes).

Could not fault them. Not that noisy either.

For my every day tyres I run BF Goodridge A/Ts, but they are pricy!

Got some tyres acouple of years ago ,Technic remoulds 205 16, £37.00 each fitted. From Direct tyres in Stockport. They have been ok so far for what I want.

Good tyres don,t come cheap..... An cheap tyres don,t come good!!

50% agree 50% diss agree insa turbo dakars are cheap as cheaps and i never got stuck once in the deep stuff not much road drag, i think all insa turbo tyres are well made have rangers on the disco not up to much off road more 50 50 pattern great for light green laning etc but theres 0 road noise, been to cornwall and back on them no probs i would reccomned insa turbo to anyone:D

totally agree ,must admit i like the look of the insa turbo, i got bfg a/t on mine ,cost a bomb, but they haven,t lasted too well and look tired, so will go cheaper next time, like general grabbers too.
