I live in the States and am searching for a Land Rover in the UK. I'm hoping to find someone who knows their way around Land Rovers and would be able to inspect vehicles as they come up for sale, making sure that I don't end up with something full of rot, and also just give it a general look-over. If you're interested in spending a couple saturdays busing around looking at Landies, drop me a line and we can talk about what fair compensation for time and expenses might be. Thanks!

Re-arrange as you see fit.

1. Sorry I'm too cynical.
2. Sorry I'm not gullible.
3. See the second part of my signature.

Sorry if I didn't quite understand your post. I just wanted to confirm with you that this isn't a scam or something like that, I own a 1981 Stage 1 V8 out here in the states which burns oil faster than I can top it off, and has some serious rust issues in all of the door tops and window channels. I'm looking for a better land rover to replace it, and this time I don't want to buy one sight unseen. thanks!

why not fix engine and get new doors. got to be cheaper than shipping a whole landy over

It turned out to be more work than I meant to take on. I've gone ahead and put it up for sale for someone with more experience to tackle. There are other problems with the chassis, bulkhead and brakes that were never described to me when I bought the vehicle, and i'm trying to avoid having that happen to me again by finding someone who would be willing to check a couple out for me and tell me if they're junk or not. Besides, it probably is cheaper to find one that someone else has already sorted than try to restore mine in the States.

Stuie,

Your best best is probably using a professional body like the RAC to carry out an inspection. I live in Germany and I bought mine unseen after an ispection. If you want more info please feel free to PM me.

Feck me there's that good mood thing again - must be POETS day :)
