The Disco 2 discovery has exactly the same one... I removed mine as it's a pain in the a** to get at stuff with it fitted. I never bothered re-fitting it, as it makes access easy. It's hanging up in my garage. I may get round to re-fitting it one day, but to be honest my Disco 2 facelift probably has another year left with me, I'm thinking of getting a Disco 3. I'll let you know if I do and you can have it for free.... collecting it may be a problem though :)

Mine didn’t have one when i got it. Would be nice to have it but its not a problem for now, plenty of other jobs to be getting on with!

I stand corrected. Never heard of one and never seen one fitted, and last year I looked under an awful lot of D2s.

Indeed on the D3 they go from the underneath the front bumper to the gearbox in 3 x sections

Amazing how many after market plates there are as well for air compressor , wishbones, etc for the D3

Can any one say whether they do anything useful other than maybe keep a bit of oil off the garage floor? Were they designed to try and reduce underbody drag and thus fuel consumption?

"Sound Deadening" according to the parts list on post 6.
That parts list also includes a full D2 Partition A01225. Good luck finding one of those mythical accessories.
