Hi guys,
I'm off to look at a 2005 model TD4 and would like to know if there are any obvious Freelander faults I should be looking for.
Apart from obvious things when looking at a used car like trying everything electrical and looking through all documents, kicking tyres and making sure the front half of the car is the same colour as the back, are there any specifics that would not be obvious to a 1st time Freelander owner?
Thanks in advance

hi, might be worth checking the clutch - moving off in 2nd, i'm just in the position of replacing my clutch on my 54 plate that i've had for 12 months - the mileage is at 60k. Digging around the forum, it appears that the clutch might need replacing much sooner than 60k.

i've been very happy with my td4 since purchase, no major problems, checkout a roverron synergy 2 though, it will tune up the engine and make the car much more pleasant to drive.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll be doing all the usual used car checks, the clutch one will be added to it. The cars got a towbar so need to find out how often it was used and for what which may lead to a few more checks.
I'd be interetsted in the synergy 2, the wife wont thought.

Didn't get a chance to drive it, the seller called me to say someone had turned up late afternoon and put money down after seeing it.
Gutted as it looked a good buy but fair play to the seller for calling and giving me the bad news.
