Thanks mate, but it does still beep (short horn blast) when locking with the keyWill probably not sound the horn if you lock it with the key as it doesn't activate the full monty security systems when locking on the key.
Maybe the calibration instructions i was following arn't right for my Landy, I disconnected the battery for more than 10secs, started engine, revved to 1500, pressed the window up button -nothing. (it said "press the window up button until it goes fully up and hear a beep to know it is correctly calibrated)Can't help on the tailgate window closure issue. Mine is fine.
I can run you through the sequence I use to get it closed after the battery is disconnected (negative terminal off then back on again).

As an aside, isn't the horn beeping and lights flashing something to do with the 'self test mode'? Check out @Hippo's STM thread.
As I understand it, the output testing mode (inc. rear window) is connected to the internal central locking switch. Could be a something funky going on with ECU/CCU.
OK thanks Nodge, I suspected there wouldn't be a way.A quick blast of the horn when locking, means the CCU has detected a door or rear window open. It's warning you that only perimeter detection is active, and not the interior movement detection. There's no way to disable it, except for repairing the window correctly.

It goes down after shutting the door (with engine running and without) sometimes when i press the rocker switch it goes up with the engine running, but sometimes it just refuses. I can hear the electric 'bump' inside the rear door everytime i press the switch so the wiring is fine, it works sometimes so the regulator and motor are fine... I can't identify the problem so I don't know what to replace!
How does it know the window is not fully closed? I must be able to trick the sensor../
STM self test mode is totally different ter normal vehicle operation. It's a method of testing the car. It provides a feedback ter items it senses happen like opening the bonnet. The internal CDL switch is only used as a method ter allow the owner ter interface with the Freelander, ter step through the sequence of controls.Can't help on the tailgate window closure issue. so maybe if I disconnect the motor? or can I reprogram the CCU?Window motor has a position sensor fitted. This position is logged in the CCU when the window is calibrated. If the CCU doesn't see the window is up by referencing the sensor, it sounds the horn.
