Hi all! Well didn't think my first post would be a yell for 'Help!' The battery was disconected within 17 seconds of switching off this morning to remove, clean conections on a few cables as I have a gearbox fault warning on the dash, after reconecting the -ive cable she started up fine (4.0 SE Petrol,79 400 RR stamped miles in service book) She would not close via remote fob so I closed her with the key, phew she locked straight away.......now she won't open with neither keys, nor neither fobs.

Old service bill shows a check to BECM,all ok,battery charged, engine restarted, window reset too all in Jan 2014 at Colliers Land Rover West Midlands,a EKA CODE was given to which is a four digit number.I have tried so many times with this code and with the four turns to the left before entering it at the drivers door keyhole, still wont open the doors.:(:(

Any insight tips most appreciated.Thank You.

EKA is used to bypass the Key to immobiliser synchronisation....

I have a feeling your drivers door lock is fecked and it is not registering the key turn to unlock the door....do you get flashing of the turn indicators when you input the EKA code?? if not, it may be the little lock microswitch is fecked!

Is the side light warning light on the dash illuminating as you turn the key when entering the EKA code? If it isn't then the BECM isn't receiving the code. :)

Dont think its EKA problem, poster says cant open door with keys or fobs, might be time to get the manchester screwdriver out !

I'm in Caernarfon, North Wales, got in last night through rear hatch which open somehow. Now moved latch to fool alarm it's closed,at least I can get in now and open the bonnet.

Alarm light(red LED) on centre of dash flashes,
No side indicator nor bleeps when entering code sequence.

Got it into my garage heavy******to push ain't they! So this afternoon it's the jumpers method from under neath :) and take it from there.....so thankfull for the forum reading up on the try this and that really does help get me in some good direction :)

Have seen this before don't know what caused it but as far as i can recall had to disable alarm with diagnostics.

A productive afternoon just trying just a few remedies read on here to try and get mobile, first the jumpleads to starter didn't work in this instance, neither did disconnecting battery key position2 method, but, yeah charging up the battery just for 1/4 hour even though it was charged (In my opinion!) and then entering the keycode outside, the locks popped open and wehey it started :) :) :)

Next quest will be to find out why wont it close and open via keyfob...

So,Sunday night homework is to find out ,help most appreciated again :) Thank You.

They hate low battery volts.
Sounds like RF receiver, stand close to the rear quarter off side window that has the aerial in it and try, the aerial may be disconnected.
Oh, and charge the battery overnight.

hi , have sent you a p.m. ensure you fully charge the battery overnight and speak to you tomorrow regards mozz

well after a 1/2 hour trickle charge and putting in the keycode hey presto she opens and closes with the key, then I put the key in lock turned right pressed right lock on fob and same for left and the fob remote is now back on form :) Cheers for the guidance all ! :D
