Leave the key in it ... take circlip off the end and withdraw barrel with key attached ... If I remember rightly you should not take the key out as the pins drop ...
replace plastic bit ... refit barrel ...

Or glue it. At own risk of irreparable damage.

Blob of aradite would hold it until you can get a replacement ...
Take off the other door card and see what's missing, you might be able to swop around and still have a usable drivers doorlock ...

Ok UPDATE
Kit is wrong. Will sort of fit but the clip wont go over the barrel end as the part is too fat. And the cog end wont fix to the rod securely
PICS (red one is new part)

Part number appears to read RH-R30J68 (or perhaps 3 ... its broken at this point) PPO-GF10<2 (OR 6510<2)
This part fits over the above one, and does the lever business

This part seems to say R3070 - RH>PF<1

Its a Jap import 91 Disco 300tdi 1

HELP !!! I now have no secure lock barrel at all.

Old part doesn't look bad, can't bodge it back on?
Or leave it off, lock from inside using passenger door, then close and lock passenger door?

Old part is snapped. I pushed it back together for the pic. I doubt it will take the tension if I glue it. Will need some mega glue (advice ?)
Google isnt turning up anything.
Re fancy lock yoga. If the wife has one more excuse to kiss this thing goodbye, that will be it
Bloody Jap thing

Ive epoxied the part back together, if that doesnt work il have to think of some ingenious way of reusing the new part

Thats what I did. Saw off the nib

Well done for finding that !!! Iv bought it as i suspect this wont last a year

Yes it works fine, but because of the slight difference in the way it works, the part of the red cog that meets the key is smaller than the gap so there is a bit of play, and I suspect it will wear down

Is there a bit chipped off on your barrel there? Might be worth looking at replacing the whole assembly at some point. Both sides, so you know what parts you've got.
Otherwise seems like you should be OK for a while anyway :)

I had to get a new barrel just to get the plastic bit :/ However, I took the key out, and now have a rather fun puzzle to do later as all the bits fell out
(Im glad I can still use the master key)

Thanks for your help BTW
