I have got everything working except the reversing light - I have looked through all of the information I can find and can't locate the gearbox switch for the reversing light?

Anyone got any idea please? It's a 1992 Classic auto with a 3.9 V8 :)

Thanks!

The reverse light/inhibitor switch located on the gearbox...

You can reach it from underneath and do it by 'feel', be careful not to knock too much dirt in to the g/box...

Reverse light switch is an integral part of start inhibitor
switch. It is located on left hand side of gearbox,
accessible from beneath vehicle.
1.
Place vehicle on suitable ramp.

2.
Disconnect battery negative lead.

3.
Disconnect multi-plug.

4.
Release clamp bolt, remove clamp.

5.
Remove switch.

Refit

6.
Fit a new ’O’ ring to switch.

7. Reverse removal procedure

It's true. I don't have a reverse light on mine and never been an issue.

However if you have one fitted it must work, iirc

Not so- it's just not a testable item, so whether it works or exists is irrelevant to the MOT test. Same as things like front fog lights, extra high beams etc.
