I took my 1996 Defender to a modest sized paint shop that repairs cars and sprays them. They would not touch my 110 as they said the kind of paint they use for normal cars - pointing to a few half done in the garage - is not the same as needed on the 110 - and if they used that kind of paint it would not match the rest of the vehicle. What on earth did he mean - mine is white and I have previously had a repair done on the rear side - though it was done at the other side of the country and the match was perfect. I only want a small dent in the passenger door repaired and then resprayed. It has made me worry about going anywhere else. The rest paint on the rest of the vehicle is really good so do not want to attempt it myself. Can anyone throw any light on all this. Thanks in advance.

I know about 2 pack - is that what he will use on cars but not suitable for a 110 - so what is used so I know what to ask and could he not have got some!!.

i think most garages use water based paints now but your 110 will be 2 pack .

try some whare different

Blimey, take it somewhere else.

My local BMW dealer bodyshop are remarkably cheap and have done paintwork on my 300tdi, my TD5 90 and my TD5 110.

No problems at all with any of them.

Yes, get it done somewhere else then take it back to show them how good the paint shop is down the road.
