I realise it is bi directional, and also that it can be coming out the exhaust if it is stuck open (since it is a normally closed valve). I'd still expect air to come out of the feed to the reservoir since it is fed almost directly from the compressor.

The advice to run the compressor checks are still good, no argument from me, I just think the valve errors are red herrings ...

Not necessarily so, the pipe is bi directional. Check the compressor output as per the "How To" guide at the top of the page.
Check that there is no air coming out of the exhaust on the valve block.
Don't waste your time tracing pipes, they don't move.
Download RAVE and it will give you all the info, there is a link in the How To section.

You need to get to the bottom of the comms problem.


checking the exhaust on the valve block was one of my first basic checks no air is leaking from there .
looking at the supply / delivery pipe to the air receiver it seems to be pretty insecure and give the fact that there is a good supply of air from port 6 on the valve block my guess is a major leak somewhere on this pipe .

Exhaust blows melting the airlines is a well known problem.

Get yourself some lengths of airline and just string a replacement around on the floor as a quick way to test for leaking lines.

thats my plan for tomorrow i have a couple of coils of 6mm and 8mm tubing so it should be simple enough to test the theory .

Have you done the compressor check or sorted the driver on the USB to get comms working yet? I'd be doing that before worrying too much about the airlines!

If the compressor checks out OK, try running the car with the tailgate open - the compressor should shut off in 7-8 mins. If it doesn't then there's probably a leak in the airline.

Both can be done in the dark and rain...... :)

yes both done the compressor runs just fine and delivers pressure ok .

sorry my mistake ive done the compressor check , not the shut off check , the compressor runs all the time the engine is running , i only left it running 5 mins or so as it was obvious it wasn`t building up any pressure after a couple of basic checks .
and after a few pointer from previous posts here i.e blowing exhaust damaging pipework seems to confirm my thoughts that the supply pipe to the tank is damaged .
from port 6 of the valve block i have pressure but at the tank with the pipe disconnected there is nothing whatsoever and given the fact that the pipe appears a bit insecure i need to look into this bit 1st .
it has been suggested that i run a pipe direct into the tank from port 6 so thats what i intend to do in the morning which should confirn very quickly if the issue is in the original pipe .

The pipe should go via the dryer
 
when the supply pipe exits the valve block via port 6 it has already passed through the air dryer .
anyway i would like to thank all for your input the problem was the pipe from port 6 to the tank that had melted due to the exhaust gasses blowing on it , i ran a temp pipe from port 6 and into the tank and the suspension rose up once the tank got up to pressure .
i just need to sort out my comms issue now as i keep getting loads of strange faults .
