Hello,

As per the title ,has anyone had any luck losing the rave files onto an iPod or hudl.?

If yes, How did you do it?

Cheers

No.

Rave is a windows only environment and doesn't work on Android. I tried it a few years ago. I use it now on an old crappy laptop .. ;)

I did download rave, but had trouble extracting the files.
I found it easier to find the manuals in .pdf format, download them and then put them on my iPad/Surface.

Are you after any one in particular?

Hi Bluedog,

No, I have the 3 rave folders on my laptop, but it would be nice to have it on the hudl, then I could just grab that when I needed. If it is not possible then it is not really a big concern.

Cheers

Not sure about Hudl, Android I guess? On my iPhone I simply went to http://www.landroverresource.com/
clicked onto the manual needed and when it appeared I pressed "Open in iBooks". It's then downloaded into iBooks where it's available offline anytime it's needed.

@bluedog333 , It is difficult to explain.

There is a video that show it being used by Saint V8, here is a link, luckily it was written about earlier on another thread.LOL.

That looks fairly useful. Unless you needed the manual for all the models I'd be tempted to just go for the individual PDFs for what suits your needs, this'll also take up a lot less space on your device.

This site also has plenty of individual manuals.

I seem to remember that it runs on an early version of Adobe Reader which comes with the RAVE files.

Haven't tried it on our Samsung tablets as we have it on laptops.

Thanks @bluedog333 ,

I have all the files I need on my laptop, unless I can replicate what it has on the hudly then it is not what I want. For sake of use trying to flick through a book to find the page I want on a hudl it is not going to happen or trying to look at an electrical diagram.

Cheers

I have just dug out an old laptop, I will try and get it on that. I am just trying to avoid taking my "good" laptop out into the drive. If I am trouble shooting or going through a technical issue, LOL.

Just would have been nice if it had worked on the hudl, as it is easier to carry and store.

Cheers

@bluedog333

I have looked at the rave workshop link, I have seen this before it looks to be the 1999 NAS spec vehicle. Is this the one you are using?

If you want the UK one then let me know I will send you the link.

Cheers

I just print off the pages for the job in hand. Soon i will have a book
Thats exactly what I did with my TD5 rebuild.
Its sometimes useful to have a paper copy to write on, you can use it as a check list and when a particular stage is done, put a big line across it.
Rave is nicely laid out, far better than Haynes manuals, IMO!
Only slightly annoying thing is that it often repeats the same thing several times, but thats not an issue.

Have to say I have done this as well, when you have a specific job to do and a list you want to work through. I tried ticking off the list on my laptop ,But I found the tickmarks on the screen annoying.....................:oops::oops::oops:

Cheers
